Disabled access

Preserving and enhancing the Lourdes heritage

Visit of the castle:

The hall of the castle has been fitted out to be accessible to people with reduced mobility or sensory disabilities.

A rumble strip takes you to the entrance. Inside, the circulation spaces are wide, without obstacles and the height of the reception desk is adapted, both at the ticket office and in the shop area.

Access to the castle is via an elevator.

Due to the historical character of the monument, the rooms are only accessible by stairs, and it is complex to equip it in order to make it more accessible. Nevertheless, with help, as the inner courtyard is gravelled, it is possible to see the Place d'Armes, three rooms of the museum and the botanical garden, which offers a panoramic view of old Lourdes.

Our mediation service is available to adapt the guided tour to several types of disability, do not hesitate to contact us so that we can define together the most suitable offer : chateaufort.museepyreneen@ville-lourdes.fr or 33 5 62 42 37 37.

Parking: If you have the parking card, all parking spaces are free throughout the city. A PRM space is located a few meters from the entrance to the ticket office. A turning area is provided for making a U-turn with a large vehicle. Contact us to find out about the accessibility offered.
